Wordsmith

Connect Wordsmith's legal AI agents to BotDojo to ask questions, analyze supported attachments, and retrieve asynchronous results.

Connect Wordsmith's legal AI agents to BotDojo so a flow can discover available agents, ask a question, and retrieve the answer or generated files.

Before You Start

You will need a Wordsmith API key. In Wordsmith, open your account settings, go to API, generate a key, and store it securely. Wordsmith uses the key as a Bearer token. See Wordsmith authentication.

The agent you want to use must be available to the API key and have API intake enabled. The listAgents action returns agents available to that key.

Connect Wordsmith In BotDojo

  1. In BotDojo, open Integrations.
  2. In Agent Tools, find Wordsmith and click Connect.
  3. Paste the Wordsmith API key into the API Key field.
  4. Optionally click Test Connection to check the key by retrieving the current Wordsmith user.
  5. Click Connect. BotDojo checks the key again before it saves the integration.

Keep this shared API key in a server-side integration. Do not put it in a flow input or prompt.

What This Integration Supports

  • getCurrentUser verifies the connection and returns the authenticated user and organization details.
  • listAgents returns agents that the API key can access. Use an agent's id with createAgentQuestion; use default for Wordsmith's general agent.
  • createAgentQuestion submits a question. It accepts agent_id (defaults to default), required question (up to 10,000 characters), optional attachments, optional session_id, optional permissions.visibility, and optional sync_mode (defaults to false).
  • getQuestionStatus retrieves a submitted question using agent_id and its returned id as question_id.

Wordsmith processes questions asynchronously by default. Save the id returned by createAgentQuestion, then call getQuestionStatus until the status is terminal. Statuses include in_progress, completed, error, and filtered. A filtered question is a terminal decline; do not retry it automatically. When continuing a conversation, pass the returned session_id in a new question after the previous question has completed. Use the question id for polling; it can differ from session_id for follow-up questions.

Set sync_mode: true when a short request should return its answer in the create response. Wordsmith's synchronous wait is limited to 30 seconds; use the default asynchronous mode for document analysis or other longer work.

When permissions.visibility is omitted, BotDojo uses private. You can select organization to let people in your organization access the session, or public to let anyone with the link access it. Choose the narrowest visibility that meets the use case.

Completed responses may include generated files as attachment URLs. Wordsmith's API returns these as presigned download links that expire after 24 hours. See Create Agent Question and Get Question Status.

Attachments

createAgentQuestion.attachments accepts up to 10 entries, with a maximum of 50 MB per file. Wordsmith's supported file types are listed in the Create Agent Question API reference. Each entry must provide either:

  • upload_job_id: a file that has already been uploaded to Wordsmith; or
  • url: a URL that Wordsmith can access publicly.

An entry may also include unzip: true to ask Wordsmith to extract a ZIP archive. BotDojo passes these references to Wordsmith; this integration does not upload file bytes or fetch arbitrary URLs. To use an uploaded file, create it through Wordsmith's file upload flow, then pass its upload_job_id. For a URL, make sure Wordsmith can access the file without signing in.
